U-kiss 1st Kiss Concert: The Best Day of My Life! (So far)

This is the best Birthday gift. Ever! :">

June 14th, 2010 is U-kiss' 1st major concert in the Philippines. Me and my sister wouldn't want to miss it since it's our favorite K-pop group in the whole world. We both went to the venue without reserved tickets, good thing seats are still available. We bought seats at Upper Box B.

Tickets are kinda expensive, but it's all worth it! :)

This is the view from our seats, we have to buy binoculars 'cause its too far from the stage.

At around 8:00PM, lights go off and its showtime, the concert started with a group of dancers that danced hit songs Round And Round and Mworago (what?). after that, my seven princes came out in black coats and sing Man Man Ha Ni (Am I that Easy) as their opening song. Araneta Coliseum was filled with scoliseumcreams from Filipino, Japanese and Korean fans as if the coliseum was packed like a sold out concert. I got a temporary hearing loss during that time.

The show:

Each of the members show off their singing skills at the solo performances, my personal favorite is Alexander's solo because he sang Bebot like he's been speaking Filipino for a long time. And look, its in You Tube.

After their solo performances, they sang their new and old songs. Then, they had this "mini-talk" where they interacted with the audience. Its called "fan-service" and U-kiss is one of the idol groups who offer good fan-service. :) They did some Abs showing, (that made everyone scream LOUDER), DongHo, the youngest danced a song by a girl idol group, he's really good in being aegyo or pa-cute. :))

Dong Ho dancing to "OH!"
Kibum, showing off his ABS

Then they did their second set, they even sang two English songs, As Long As You Love Me and End of The Road.

The concert lasted for two hours. Kinda bitin, but it's okay. Me nd my sister was so happy to watch them live, after the concert, we already plan things for the next concert. :)) We're both excited. I wish I could share more pictures and fan-cams of the concert and blog the detailed moments, but I don't have enough pics to share. But the memories of that night, I will always remember and will keep in my heart. :"> I can't wait for them to comeback in the county! I'm sure I'll do anything to watch them again. and my sister is with me on that. Haha. :D

Happiness = Boypren?

At meron ding di pa nararanasang magmahal.

Pero tulad ng mundo na patuloy na umiikot, we also need to move on. Kahit mahirap. Kung miserable ka man ngayon, in God's time, marrealize mo din kung bakit ka naging miserable, at magsisilbi ang xperience na yon para mas maging mature ang pananaw mo sa buhay. ^^

Kung nahihirapan ka, buksan mo mga mata mo, you might be missing out a lot of things in your life pero hindi naman huli ang lahat para ayusin yon di ba?

Basta, PUSH lang. Pray Until Something Happens. Nandyan lang si God, handang makinig. :)

YFC Chronicles: The Journey Continues

"To live in a manner worthy of the Lord, so as to be fully pleasing, in every good work bearing fruit and growing in thE knowledge of God." -1 Col. 1:10
That is the bible verse for this year's Youth for Christ Metro Manila Conference that I attendented this weekend in Tanay, Rizal. This is where all YFC's from Metro Manila to gather and celebrate with God. There are creative competitions like dance, band and chorale and sports competition like volleyball, basketball and Frisbee. There are also fun games for everyone. But the main reason for this celebration is to hear God's word and be inspired by other youths' stories.

This year is my fourth MetroCon, and I expected this year to be better than last year. And I was right. The speaker that night said, every year, we thought that this experience is the best, but as we continue to celebrate God's greatness, it's going to be better than ever.

The conference mainly talk about continuing the journey of us, YFCs to continually grow spiritually not just on ourselves, but to share God's love to others. The community held missions in remote areas like Benguet even in other Asian countries like Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. YFC believes that we are called to witness Christ to other people. and through the years, we continued to grow from goodness to greatness.

Lately, I've been praying to God for myself. I think its selfish that I only pray for myself. I've been praying to God to find myself, to find who I really am and what's my purpose. But I realized in this conference, I've realized that my purpose is in front of my eyes. Its my mission to spread God's word through the community and I prayed that night for God to guide me through this journey.

For others, their journey might have started already, but as for me, my mission just started. A brand new mission with a new purpose. And I've never been excited in my life for this Journey. ^^

Saranghaeyo, Unnie, :">

Having three sisters, and being the middle child isn't easy. But I love how all of us are tightly bonded. :)

I am the third out of the four daughters in the family, My eldest sister on the other hand, got married and had two children so she had to move with her new family. And my youngest sister, a special child, who is REALLY spoiled, is now in her teens and we love her for what she is (Even though she can get very immature and topakin sometimes). Back when I was still in my high school days, I don't have that tight relationship with my second older sister because we don't have a lot of things in common and as long as I can remember, we fight a lot when we're still young, (we fight over childish things like who's going to sleep beside my mom, who can play the better barbie doll, and other things young children fight over.) and we don't really talk much. And because of this, I've always wanted to have an older brother.

But all this changed this year, last March when we accidentally watched a Korean idol group in Party Pilipinas. Then, me and my second oldest sister's relationship with each other became really close.

My ate Jesusa Corazon Navarra. Haha, okay, she hates her name, so she prefers to be called "Jazie" or JC. I tease her with her name most of the time. ;P She's my second oldest sister, and amazingly, we're really close. Because we found one simple thing that we really love, K-POP. That reason maybe a shallow reason for others, but for me, I consider K-pop a blessing in disguise. :)

Now, I love how we can talk to each other forever by just talking about our favorite stars, how we have the same LSS, how we have expressions that only the two of us can understand, and how we spazz (kiligin) about cute boys, and how we established the same dream, to tour around South Korea someday. :) It's funny how we fight over things before but now, we bring pasalubong on ordinary occasions, and I love how we cover each other's kalokohan. Like when we're both caught using the computer at 2 a.m by our mom and we both got scolded for it but we just laugh it off. :)

But it's sad to think that we may not be spending the Christmas season with her. Because she has to go to Australia to take care of our grandfather and also to make bigger chances of migrating there in two years. That's why we're making the most out of it, until she receive her Visa and leave for Australia for good.

A lot of people say they can't tell who's who. Good thing I have short hair now. :)

I never thought that my sister, can be my best friend. And I feel so blessed for it. I can say that she's my favorite sister ever, and I wouldn't exchange her for a new older brother. I love my sister, Saranghaeyo, Unnie. Unnie means older sister or ate and saranghaeyo means "I love you." And yes, I do love her. So as my other sisters. hehe. :)

GKT. I love it! :P

Finally, Sembreak has already started! :)

Meaning, panahon na para sa GKT days. ^^ GKT= Gising. Kain. Tulog.

Oyes. Enjoy. :)) But I think GKT is better explained through this song. :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gxYO-IyBAE ^^

Haha. And, I just found out that 3 of the most terror, kilabot, katakot-takot, and No-pity professors in my college life. (2D, You know who they are, right? haha) kaya naman, I'm making the most out of my 2 week vacation.

HAHA. ^^

"Enjoy life, there's plenty of time to be dead." --Wala lang, nai-quote ko lang. :P
Osige, matutulog muna ako. Haha. Jok lang. :)

Torture day. -____-;

It's October 14th and yet I'm blogging about what happened last October 4. :D

October 4th, 2010. I, together with my fellow 2D consider this date as the "Deadliest deadlline" dahil ang pinakamamahal naming mga professor, (I don't now if they did it on purpose or fate did it. ) Made this day the deadline of their requirements! >.< Case study presentation in EcoTourism, Feasibility study defense in Tourism Planning and a 5-page essay in Rizal. But I consider this day worse than that.

It was all good at first, I came in late (Cause our prof usually come to class late, her "reason", 'Kasi kilala ko kayo, 2D, lagi kayong late pero maaga talaga akong pumapasok.' Well, yeah. most of us come to class late but.. Okay, I won't argue with that na lang.) my groupmates and almost half of the class were late. then our prof came in, got angry and said some things that were a bit harsh. Well it's not like being sensitive about it, yes, we were wrong for not fetching her at the faculty room and sometimes we forget to pay for the projector, blah blah blah, but she should have considered our feelings. We can be one section and one's fault can be the whole class' fault, WE GET HURT TOO. We're humans. Anyway, as the others come in eventually, the case study presentation went smoothly. Thanks God for that. :P

Whew, one down, two more to go for this day.

Next was our defense, Ugh. that feasibility study is a pain in the a** for all of us. but we can't avoid it unless we have to drop the subject. :)) anyway, our group faced the professor unprepared (Cause we're still rushing EVERYTHING) to make it short, Our defense was a failure. (As said by our dearest Cabiling) but to look on the positive side, he didn't make us start all over again, he gave us the chance to do Major, major revisions and he said that we can still pass he's subject if we do things right this time. Kaya Sir, SALAMAT PA RIN PO! :D

After the defense, we rushed to the computer shop to start the revisions and stupidly forgot that we still have to pass our 5-page essay in Rizal. We came to class at around 1:50pm and our professor was furious. She's upset for disrespecting her subject and she did not accept our essays. (Great, I just lost my chance to be exempted in the final exam. -__-) After her class, we came to her to say sorry, but she didn't consider it. She insists that in order for her to accept our essays, we should make an excuse letter, signed by the guidance councilor. So, we did. but the guidance councilor is not around, someone said that she'll arrive at 5pm. ang nakakabadtrip don, it's only 3pm that time. Okay, we waited. para sa requirement naman. but it's already 6pm when she arrived. (Okay, tiis lang. para matapos na to.) but we waited for 3 hours for nothing, she wants an excuse letter with our parent's signature that means we have to come back TOMORROW. Pefect. We just wasted our time. Umuwi na lang sana ako at natulog. My goodness. +.+

Dahil wala naman kaming napala, we went home with heavy hearts. Tired from all the drama. -_____-" I finally reached home at around 8PM.

Well, this day was a disaster. But it did a couple of lessons for us. Remember to respect professors, (kahit na di lang ikaw ang may mali, they are still our professors.) cramming is not always a good thing to do, (always be prepared) and, it inspired me to write this blog. (kahit na late) I remember what our Filipino prof said to us before:
"Learn to appreciate everything, kahit na sobrang pangit na ng nangyari sa'yo, tanggapin mo. Dahil 'yan ang huhubog sa pagkatao mo, ang EXPERIENCE."
And he was right. and at the end of this day, I just thanked Gd for everything that happened. Dahil tulad nga ng sabi sa commercial, Tomorrow is another day! :)

Thanks for reading! ^^v

5-page essay for our Rizal Subject~ //Harsh. -_- :P

My essay for our Rizal subject. :) Enjoy! ^^

Rizal: The Greatest Filipino of Philippine History?
In the beginning of the semester, our professor told us to write an essay regarding our own insight if Dr. Jose Rizal is really worthy to be Philippines’ national hero. My answer before was “Yes.” And after almost three months of studies about the life, works and philosophies of Rizal, my answer would still be a Yes. Yes, Jose Rizal does deserve to be our national hero.
“No other Filipino hero can surpass Rizal in the number of monuments erected in his honor, in the number of laws, Executive Orders and proclamations of the chief executives, and bulletins. Who’s the Filipino writer, thinker whose teachings and noble thoughts have been frequently invoked and quoted by authors and public speakers on almost all occasions? None but Rizal.” As said by Esteban De Ocampo, the author of “Who Made Rizal our Foremost National Hero, and Why?” This statement by him is true; no one in Philippine history has ever surpassed the honors given to Rizal since he was declared as the country’s National hero. Blumentritt gave a statement after the novel Noli Me Tangere was released (in 1887) saying that he is lucky to have Rizal as a friend, and how lucky Filipinos are to have a patriotic and loyal son like Rizal. De Ocampo said, “No Filipino has yet been born who could equal or surpass Rizal as ‘a person of distinguished valor of enterprise in danger or fortitude in suffering,’” No other Filipino has accomplished a lot during his lifetime. Here are the reasons why this great man was chosen as the greatest Filipino ever lived.
  • Rizal as a loving son of his family and country.
Rizal loves hi family as much as he loves his country. This shows in his poems he made for his mother and his birth place, Calamba. His mother, Teodora Alonzo inspired him to love arts and write poems. He loves his siblings especially his older brother Paciano who helped him a lot when he studied abroad. With this deep love to his family, he loves his country by disregarding his personal life for the call of duty to his mother land. Rizal, being an intelligent man who can accomplish anything he desires, and a person who is blessed to have a good education, can easily be wealthy but chooses to be a poor man, for his dear country.
  • Rizal as a charitable teacher and Doctor.
Rizal has achieved a lot of success in his profession as an Ophthalmologist, after graduating from schools that were considered as the finest in his time. But he doesn’t stop there; he went to different places work with some of the great practitioners in the field. During his exile in Dapitan, he teach young residents arts, medicine, and literature that helped a lot of the Dapitan people to learn what was not given properly to them.
  • Rizal as a good leader.
Rizal contributed to reform groups like La Solidaridad which he was made honorary president he wrote several articles for the newspaper that gave a lot of impact than other articles written by Marcelo H. Del Pilar and Graciano Lopez Jaena.
He is the inspiration behind Katipunan’s foundation. The term “Rizal” is used as password for third-degree members. He is also the founder of the reform group called La Liga Filipina, a humane organization that strives to ask for a better government for Filipinos.
Though Jose Rizal is considered as our National Hero, some people still speculates that he is just a hero “made” by the Americans. It is said that Rizal is the national hero because of the Taft Commission, but I believe that Rizal was chosen as national hero because of his works, philosophies, accomplishments that made him the greatest and most prominent person in the history of the Philippines. Just like prof. Blumentritt said in 1897: “Not only is Rizal the most prominent man of his own people but the greatest man the Malayan race has produced.” With all the accomplishments he can achieve, he still chose to give his life for his country.
“He is a man honored after death by public worship, because of exceptional service to mankind.” Even before his execution, Rizal has already gained honor for being passionate in reform that made him one of his kind, for being a great example of loyalty, love for his people and country. And I salute him for that.
“Dr. Rizal was a peace-loving man, and in his books, he made all the revolutionary efforts of his characters fail utterly. He believed that the peaceful way of reform was the way to change the status quo in the Philippines then. He surmised that there were intelligent and willing listeners in “Mother Spain,” who would be willing to make the necessary changes in the colonial government so that the Philippines could reach its fullest potential. Dr. Rizal and his allies fought for the recognition of the Philippines as a province of Spain. They actively reiterated in their efforts and in their written works that (1) Spaniards and Filipinos must be treated as equals; (2) Filipinos must have a representative to the Spanish “Cortes” or Legislature; (3) The parishes in the Philippines must be given to secular priests, and not to religious orders; and (4) Filipinos should be given the freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and the right to fair trial. Above all these, Dr. Rizal and his compatriots lobbied for the removal of the religious orders in the Philippines, which they identified as the cause of the nation’s backward state.
Dr. Rizal did have thoughts of eventual independence, but never through violent means. It is ironic, therefore, that the revolution that started in his lifetime was ascribed by the Spaniards to him, though he never had a hand in it. Dr. Rizal, the reformist, was actually executed on the accusation that he was the supreme leader of the revolutionary movement of his time. The efforts for reform of Dr. Rizal and his compatriots at this time were already showing signs of failure, prompting leaders from the lower classes to launch an armed struggle.”
In other countries, their national heroes held guns, used force and shed blood for liberty but our Jose Rizal believes that violence is not the answer for a better tomorrow, hence a bloodless battle for independence is the best solution. Rizal believes that “A pen is mightier and more powerful than the sword.”
Rizal himself, the Filipinos, and foreigners made him the greatest hero the Filipinos have ever had because of his excellence in everything he did. From his love for arts, science, loyalty to his country and the one who truly answered the calling that is to be the greatest Filipino this history can give.

Kiss The Rain

Nahiya naman ako, kasi wala pa kong blog kahit isa. :P So, here it goes... ^^

Tonight is Rain's concert here in the Philippines with Ukiss and Christian Bautista. That will be held at SM Mall of Asia Concert grounds. And unfortunately, I won't be able to watch the concert. Kasi naman, It's too expensive. >_< And the only reason I want to watch the concert is because of U-kiss. :)

Rain is a Hallyu star (its the term called to artists in Korea that are pioneers in the business) in Korea. He debut in around 2002 (not sure about the year) as Justin in the popular TV drama entitled "Full House" which was aired here in our country through GMA7 in 2005. It's his second time here in the country but this will be his first time to hold a major concert here in the Philippines.

Actually, I'm not really excited that Rain will have his concert tonight, I'm all hyped up because U-kiss will be performing with him! And U-kiss is my most-est (just to make in redundant and overrated. :D) favorite, loved, adored K-pop band of forever. (OA, but, yes. I'm admitting that I'm a huge fan ;P) It's their third time to return to Philippines and I became really excited when I heard that they will be performing with Rain.

The reason I can't come is because, (1) this month will be our BUSIEST month this semester; (2) I don't have money to buy for the ticket, the furthest section offered costs Php. 500.00 and then seeing U-kiss only for 5-20 minutes won't be worth it. and (3) My parents won't allow me to go, since me and my sister attended U-kiss' first concert last June. :))

Well, in a few minutes, the concert will start. I'm excited that Ukiss will be performing in our country again, but saddened as well, 'cause I won't see them perform for their Filipino fans, (Kiss Mes PH) but I'm sure a lot of Kiss Mes will watch the concert to support them. So I'll just get updates through Twitter, that way, its like I'm at the concert watching them. ^^ Hmmm. Maybe more Kiss Mes will attend the concert than Rain's fans. (Haha) I'm sure they will enjoy their performance during the concert. ;) I'll pray for the success of the concert. I'm sure, these lovely boys will come back for 2nd Kiss Concert. And I promise that I'll watch it. :) Good luck, Rain and U-kiss! Hwaiting~! :p
